Within the 2-day tour you will plunge into the fertile region of Kakheti. Visit wineries, vineyards, located at the foot of the Caucasus Mountains, explore the ancient wine cellars of the 16th century.
Day 1: Tbilisi - Signagi - Velesciche - Kvareli - Telavi
Meeting from the hotel and departure to the region of Kakheti. Our first stop is Sighnaghi, a city surrounded by a city wall of the 18th century with defensive fortifications. Here we will visit the local wine cellar, where we will try traditional Kvevri wines (wines made according to ancient Georgian winemaking traditions). After a short walk along Sighnaghi, we will go to the village of Velesikhe, where we will visit the local wine cellar and the museum of Numisi, the oldest wine cellar in Kakheti of the 16th century. Lunch in the wine cellar with tasting of red and white wines. After lunch we will go to the town of Kvareli, where we will visit a wine cellar located in a tunnel excavated from the Caucasian mountains, here we taste the wines prepared according to the European methods of winemaking. The temperature in the Tunnel is ideally 12-14 degrees during the year. It consists of two main tunnels, which are connected by 13 galleries. The wine cellar is used to store the wine of the Winery "Hareba". The final stop is Telavi city, the administrative center of Kakheti. Then we will have dinner at a local restaurant with traditional cuisine. Check in at the hotel and rest.
Day 2: Telavi - Tsinandali - Gremi - Napareuli - Tbilisi.
After breakfast we will continue our study of Kakheti. The first stop is the city of Tsinandali, where we will visit the residence of the Kakhetian nobleman, poet and public figure - Alexander Chavchavadze (1786-1846). Here we will have an Excursion to the house museum and wine tasting from the best wine cellars Tsinandali. Then continue the journey and visit the Royal Residence and the castle - Gremi. This architectural monument is the only preserved part of the once prosperous city of Gremi, the capital of the Kingdom of Kakheti in the 16th and 17th centuries. After that we will go to the village of Napareuli where we will visit the wine cellar and the house museum "Gemini". Here we will get acquainted with the traditional process of wine processing. After us, we will have lunch in the restaurant of the wine cellar "Twins", with the tasting of 5 varieties of Georgian wines. After lunch, we will return to Tbilisi via the picturesque Gombori Pass (1620 meters above sea level).
